bonding- a photographers shoot.

January 19, 2011

yesterday, i met with five lovely people. instead of all shooting one subject, in a workshop like atmosphere. we all took the wheel and shot each other as our models!

meet sam. i’ve known sam for about 2 years now, he came to my school last year, and became best friends with one of my best friends. sam is one of the most easily excited people i know & it was so so fun to shoot with him!

meet robbie. while i was in junior high, he often gave up his friday nights to hang out with us, take pictures of our youth group and so on! he was a hoot to have on the shoot! [i sound like my mother when i say that.] AND he was the only one shooting with a nikon!

meet the absolutely gorgeous rebecca. i hadn’t really know rebecca before the shoot, but as soon as we started talking we hit it off!

meet the beautiful serena. i had kind of sort of known serena from when i used to dance, our youth group and such, but when we met, we definitely bonded.

and of course, the lovely lovely kenzie. the organizer of this whole chinding, and one of my bestest friends.

and just so all of the internet can see, this is the kenz that i get to see everday.

and finally, the group. this experience was one that was truly amazing! we all bonded. bonded as photographers, brothers and sisters in Christ, and friends!

A great idea. Not only do learn how to shoot but giving direction can be hard when you’re with strangers (I might have this problem). I like the idea of the photographer learning to be in front of the lens too – reminds you what it feels like.

i’m essentially 100% positively positive that kenzie is using the prime* hand signal in that one picture, and it makes me quite proud! and yes, sweeeeeet new header :)

haaahahahahahahahahha YES. this hand signal pops its way into my day to day conversations 93% of the time.
